Five Calculations, 2018, time-based digital drawing installation.
In Five Calculations, a series of pixelated moon-shaped diagrams are projected onto the far wall
of a darkened gallery space. Close up, it is evident that each sphere is indeed composed of
small tightly-packed squares. On each diagram, a didactic indicates the numeric value of a
square (1 square = 100) as well as the corresponding sum total.
The context of these digital drawings is conspicuously absent; a set of unspecified delineations
have been quantified and offered up as abstracted visual data.
